Thinking how to best go about the design concept I decided for a more masculine look.
That decision was the result that the requirements for a USB dock demanded. Size and square shape.
The two ring design is to protect the dock.
The upside down location of the circuit connections is so the ring itself won't get in the way of connecting to a slim device like a very thin laptop. The ring would stand upwards when connected.
The fact that it's a composed ring allows for even having it in different materials or colors.
